The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for owning the development of aspects of the battery pack and energy storage system installation related to safely managing high-temperature failures. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of lightweight, high-temperature metallic and composite structures and have enthusiasm for the iterative loop of design, analysis, and hands-on testing that comes with innovation in a new industry. In this role you’ll work in a small team environment focused on bringing your designs through verification testing and into volume production. You’ll utilize past industry experience combined with outside-the-box thinking to solve problems unique to the electric aviation industry. Your toolkit will include CAD software (CATIA), a variety of analysis tools, in-house fabrication capabilities, and a state-of-the-art test facility.
